₯ Overview

What is data sharingH

Data sharing is a feature that allows one person's data to be viewed (via the Internet) by another person.
The feature allows you to view the data of those who are timed on the course, whether at the start or remotely.

To use this function, the device must be connected to the Internet.

Host&Guest

Let's start with an explanation of the two terms.
A host is a person (device) who registers passes. There is always only one host.
A guest is a person (device) who views the data created by the host. There can be multiple guests.

In other words, one host registers passes, and multiple guests view the data.

When a host registers passes, the data is sent and stored on a server on the Internet.
Guests can then receive the data from the server and view it.

A host must use EBATime2 in host mode, and guests must use it in guest mode.

₯ Host-side operations

Put EBATime2 into host mode

On the Register passes screen, click the Others button and select Data sharing (Host).
You will be asked to confirm the start of data sharing.
The EBATime2 will now be in host mode.

While in host mode, the message Data Sharing:Host will appear in the upper left corner of the screen.
ss3_03

In the lower left corner of the screen, there is an eight-digit character. This is called the host code.
Please write down this host code, as it will be needed by the guest.
The host code is different for each device.

You're all set.
After that, please register passes as usual.

When passes are recorded while in host mode,
EBATime2 will automatically send the current data to the server.

Tip: You can also look up the host code from Device on the home screen.

₯ Guest-side operations

Put EBATime2 into Guest mode

In the Register passes screen, press the Others button and select Data sharing (Guest).

You will then be asked to enter the host code, which you wrote down earlier.
The host code can be in either upper or lower case, and no spaces are required.

You're all set.
This will put EBATime2 into guest mode.
After communication, the same data as the host will be displayed on the screen.
Also, the button layout will change slightly.

While in guest mode, the message Data Sharing:Guest will appear in the upper left corner of the screen.

In the lower left corner of the screen, there is an 8-digit character.
This is the code of the host you are currently connected to.

After that, press the Update button from time to time to get the latest data.
If the host has registered the passes, the result will be reflected.
Once the Update button is pressed, it cannot be pressed again until 5 seconds have passed.

₯ Exit Data Sharing

 Exit host mode

To exit the host mode, click the Others button and select Exit Data sharing(Host).
You will be prompted with a confirmation message, so click "Yes".

Exit guest mode

You will be prompted with a confirmation message, so click "Yes".

Alternatively, closing the Register passes screen will also exit the guest mode.

₯ Notes on use

About radio wave conditions

This function uses the Internet, so please choose a location with good reception if possible.
If the communication speed drops, data may not be sent or received properly.

About response time

Since I am using a reasonable server, it may take some time to respond and the application may appear to have stopped.
Please do not panic and wait for a while in the same state.

Data not found

If Data not found is displayed even after entering the host code on the guest side, the host code may be wrong.
Please try again with caution.
The message Data not found will also appear if the host has never activated data sharing.
